FAQ

I don’t like the coffee I received. Can I exchange it or get a refund?

We understand that this can happen from time to time. Since coffee is perishable and our beans are roasted to order, we are unable to offer any refunds or exchanges. With a variety of brewing preparations and ratios, we would be happy to share any pointers to help bring out notes of the coffee you may not be too keen on. Send us an email at support at northbeachcoffee dot com and we would be more than happy to help!

How is my coffee shipped?

Our primary shipping standard is Priority USPS.

Do t you ship internationally?

We currently do not ship internationally at this time.

Do you ship to Alaska or Hawaii?

Currently, we only ship within the continental United States.

What is roast to order?

With roast to order, your coffee order is freshly roasted, packaged, and delivered to you within a few days. We do not roast your coffee until you order, and we do not stock coffee. Unlike most supermarkets and most retail outlets that have their coffee lying around in a warehouse before being shipped through a lengthy supply process. Roast to order allows you to have a fresh cup of coffee because once coffee is roasted, it begins to lose its taste within a couple of weeks. After all, it is a perishable item and you may be buying coffee at the store that is already well past its prime.

Are the more expensive coffees better coffees?

Our coffees are amongst the highest quality available. On occasion we acquire coffees that are rare and particularly expensive, but we ensure we get the very best.

Do you have Decaf?

We currently do not have decaf. However, keeping checking back and we will have decaf in the future!

How should I store my coffee for maximum freshness?

Store your coffee in a dry, cool, and dark place. Do not store your coffee in the fridge or freezer and do not expose your coffee to oxygen or leave it unsealed. Use your coffee within one month of the “roast date” for maximum freshness.

How do I know if my coffee is fresh?

To test for freshness, grind some roasted coffee beans, place them in an open-drip filter, and put freshly boiled filtered hot water over the grounds. The fresh-roasted coffee will swell up from the release of carbon dioxide gas. Stale coffee will remain flat throughout the brew cycle.

Who do I contact if I have a question?
